New GRAS Module for the OCULUS Myopia Master® based on the Gullstrand Eye

The new GRAS (Gullstrand Refractive Analysis System) software module of the Myopia Master® is a great advance for any myopia manager, but also for eye refractive analysis in general. Now you can interpret the results of keratometry, axial length and refraction measurements with greater ease and reliability than ever before. What is more, OCULUS has adapted the Gullstrand eye model for use also with very young patients, extending the application field to include children!

The new GRAS Module also provides an ideal basis for your consultations: The Myopia Master® is the only device that differentiates between the refractive components of the cornea, crystalline lens and axis length in relation to the Gullstrand eye model, enabling you to provide the very best in patient education. The lucid displays will give flanking support to your verbal explanations. This is especially an asset when communicating with parents.

Another advantage of the differential measurement output is that it shows you changes not only of the system as a whole but also of its individual optical components. This enables you to initiate therapeutic measures with greater specificity.

In addition, by comparing with the Gullstrand eye model the new GRAS Module can now recognize when an eye is in its accommodated state. This helps avoid erroneous refractions and subsequent mistakes, improving the quality of your consultations.

Further facilitating the interpretation of measurement results, the new Myopia Master® is equipped with normative data for Caucasian eyes in the form of a database comprising data from more than 7 600 Caucasian eyes. These data were all generated using the Myopia Master®, ensuring homogeneous quality. What is more, the database is steadily growing. Thanks to OCULUS software updates provided free of charge, the Myopia Master® always keeps its users up to date.
