Dr Wolfgang Haigis, distinguished physicist, passed away on 15 October 2019 at the age of 72 . He was a pioneer of biometry. Without his formula, cataract surgery would certainly not be what it is today. The Haigis formula has been part of the software of all OCULUS Pentacam® models since 2016. The OCULUS team valued the open and constructive exchange of ideas with this exceptional scientist.
The death of Dr Haigis is a great loss not only to his family, but also to the community and field of ophthalmology.

OCULUS and BHVI (Brien Holden Vision Institute) are pleased to announce an agreement that will see OCULUS incorporate BHVI’s algorithms for tracking and estimating refractive error into its Myopia Master® ophthalmic instruments developed for the management of myopia.
Christian Kirchhübel, CEO of OCULUS says: “Through working with and incorporating BHVI’s unique technology into our Myopia Master®, we can continue to deliver world class instruments to our clients. We are delighted that the Myopia Master® device will make some of the knowledge generated by BHVI with expansive datasets accessible to eye specialists around the world.”
The OCULUS Myopia Master® is not for sale yet. If you want to be one of the first to know when the device is available in your country, sign up for the newsletter! www.myopia-master.de

Ushering in a new era, the OCULUS Myopia Master® is the world’s first device to combine all the important measurement methods of myopia management: axial length, refraction values and the central corneal radii.
The OCULUS Myopia Master® creates a myopia report for each patient, giving due consideration to such myopia risk factors as having myopic parents, time spent outdoors or time spent on near-vision activities. In this way the Myopia Master® assists in educating the patient, unobtrusively helping them want to return. The Myopia Master® provides all one needs to become an expert in myopia management.
We will be presenting the Myopia Master® for the first time to an international audience at the ESCRS in Paris, booth F120. www.myopia-master.com

Four new software features will be introduced in the OCULUS Corvis® ST at the ESCRS 2019 in Paris. These updates will further increase the number of clinical applications that can be addressed based on corneal biomechanics.
They include the assessment of biomechanical stability after corneal refractive surgery, a biomechanical comparison display that allows monitoring biomechanical changes over time, the quantification of corneal elasticity based on the stress-strain behaviour of corneal tissue and a glaucoma screening software.
Visit the OCULUS booth F120 at the ESCRS in Paris for more information and register here for the Sunday Evening Seminar to learn from the experts.

The new Pentacam® AXL Wave is the first device to combine Scheimpflug tomography with axial length, total eye wavefront, objective refraction and retroillumination. Providing all measurements in a single intuitive scanning process, the new Pentacam® AXL Wave is destined to become the single most important piece of equipment of every surgeon who performs cataract or refractive surgery.
The new Pentacam® AXL Wave will be there for visitors to try out at a hands-on premiere at the OCULUS booth at the ESCRS 2019 in Paris. In addition, experts will report on first trials within the OCULUS Lunch Symposium at ESCRS on Saturday, 14th September 2019 in room South 3.
Please visit the OCULUS booth F120 at the ESCRS in Paris for more information. We look forward to seeing you in Paris!
